The spirit of Open Source was extended today with the news that Packt Publishing is paying royalties from each book they sell to the open source project it is written on.
Open Source is focused on providing users with software that is free to modify, redistribute and ultimately free to use. The nature of being Open Source means that projects have largely relied on the generosity and goodwill of an enthusiastic community in order to prosper. Packt Publishing is responding to this need by choosing to allocate a portion of the revenues from each book they sell to the open source project the book is written on.

Does opencms have a wizard which controls the layout of the page? for eg:
Lets say, i divided my web site in 3 parts (left, right, and centre) can i employ this wizard and put the "links" in the left sec. "news" in middle and "more info" in right sec., further i can also use this to change the "old news" to "current news" or put "news" to left sec. and "links" to the middle sec.!

Alkacon Software has released version 5.0 beta 2 of OpenCms, one of the leading open source content management solutions. This version is a major step towards the final release of OpenCms 5. It adds a number of important features especially for the JSP integration and caching mechanism. The most visible change from previous versions is the new structure of the OpenCms workplace in the virtual file system (VFS), which now has a much more streamlined directory layout. A long list of minor enhancements and fixes completes this release.

ZDNet's John McGrath takes a look at some Open Source CMS alternatives.
